SCHOOL RESTRICTIONS

IMPORTANT NOTICES:  

  • The list of approved programs and/or schools are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Enrollment is only approved at the main campus of U. S. Universities/Community Colleges unless otherwise indicated. Satellite campuses are NOT allowed.
  • All programs offered by Shorelight Education are RESTRICTED. Admissions to programs administered by or through Shorelight for Summer 2019 or beyond will not be authenticated.
  • The following Pathway programs are NOT approved: Navitas, ONCAMPUS, Global, Shorelight Education, Study Group, etc.
  • Courses / Degrees offered through Continuing Education, Professional Colleges / Division, Adult Learning Division, Open University, and Evening Division are NOT approved.
  • Online, hybrid, weekend, part-time degree programs are NOT allowed and will not be authenticated.
  • Weekend (Saturday / Sunday) classes are NOT allowed.
  • Non-traditional courses are NOT allowed at 2-year / Community Colleges effective Summer 2016.
  • Non-traditional courses are NOT allowed at the graduate level (Master's, PHD).
  • Sponsored Students: Please contact your Kuwaiti Cultural Division advisor for further assistance and additional information. Written approval must be obtained from the Cultural Division office before submitting applications to the schools.
  • NOTE: Per Ministry of Higher Education policy, the following are considered non-traditional courses: online, hybrid/web enhanced/blended, flex/hyflex/roo-flex, distance education, independent/directed study, correspondence, credit by exam, continuing education, satellite campus, ITV, CD-Video lectures, and remote.
  • Students must confirm with Cultural Office whether the degree is Pre-Professional, 1st Professional or Post-Professional to be in compliance with MOHE Degree Equivalency Requirements.
  • MOHE Merit scholarship is only applicable at the undergraduate level.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH ALABAMA Alabama East *Removed from the NBAQ list; therefore, the school is restricted for ALL degree levels and the ESL program. Admission letter must be dated August 9 2017 or prior.
* Effective April 6 2016, enrollment is RESTRICTED/CLOSED due to over-enrollment of Kuwaiti students. Applications after April 6 2016 will not be authenticated.
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA - COLUMBIA South Carolina East * Admission through Shorelight is not approved, effective Summer 2019.
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA-TAMPA Florida East * TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) = *M TESOL in College of Education is NOT approved
UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA Florida East *Removed from NBAQ list. The school is restricted for ALL degree levels and ESL program per Ministerial Decree (164/2020) dated October 21, 2020. Admissions for Spring 2021 will be the last term to be authenticated and no further admissions will be approved.
UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE - CHATTANOOGA Tennessee East *Removed from the NBAQ list; therefore, the school is restricted for ALL degree levels and the ESL program. Admission letter must be dated August 9 2017 or prior.
UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS RIO GRANDE VALLEY Texas East *REMOVED from NBAQ list effective 10/8/2024, last term of admission is for Fall 2024.

UNIVERSITY OF UTAH Only the Salt Lake City MAIN CAMPUS is approved. Utah West * Admission through Shorelight is not approved, effective Summer 2019.
UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT Vermont East *Study Group Pathway Programs are NOT approved. Students are not allowed to enroll in courses at this university UNLESS it is their home university.
UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN - MILWAUKEE Wisconsin East *Removed from the NBAQ list; therefore, the school is restricted for ALL degree levels and the ESL program. Admission letter must be dated August 9 2017 or prior.
* Enrollment in Graduate programs is now RESTRICTED/CLOSED effective January 30, 2014. Enrollment to ALL other programs is RESTRICTED/CLOSED effective August 5, 2010.
